Lewisham Council Tenancy Strategy and Homelessness Consultations

Lewisham Council have published two public consultations: one on the Tenancy Strategy and another on the Homelessness and Rough Sleeping Strategy.

The Council is seeking feedback on its draft Tenancy Strategy, which sets out guidance for Registered Providers (social housing landlords) on the types of tenancies that should be offered to residents in the borough.

The council wants to hear from:

  • Registered Providers operating in Lewisham.

  • Residents living in social housing, private rented housing, or owner-occupied homes.

  • Community groups and other stakeholders with an interest in housing in Lewisham.

The survey is anonymous. However, respondents completing the survey on behalf of a Registered Provider will be asked to provide the name of their organisation so that responses from housing providers can be properly identified and analysed.

Participants will be shown questions relevant to them based on how they identify themselves at the start of the survey: Tenancy Strategy Consultation - Lewisham Council - Citizen Space

Lewisham Council is also consulting residents on its draft Homelessness and Rough Sleeping Strategy 2026–2031. The strategy aims to prevent homelessness, reduce rough sleeping, improve temporary accommodation, and expand access to long-term housing. Residents’ anonymous survey feedback will help ensure the final strategy reflects local community needs and priorities: Homelessness and Rough Sleeping Strategy Consultation - Lewisham Council - Citizen Space

Both consultations are open to all Lewisham residents and are open until 22nd September.
